CASE STUDY #3

Establishing Cisco Webex™ as a tool for internal emergencies

Old tech: SameTime™/IBM

New tech: Cisco Webex™

Changes: big

Industry: Financial

# Users: 600

Locations: 3

Objectives

The user base was IT affine and needed a tool where they could activate various people from their organization based on the banking emergency type that occurred.

Conditions

SameTime was the established emergency tool, but was unpopular and perceived as unhandy when it came to fast internal alignments and its documentation.

Challenges

Internal emergency processes had to be slightly adapted to match the early feature set of Webex. Besides, the trade union hadn’t been involved in the discussion until we arrived and became a crucial factor for success during the rollout phase.

Solution

A high focus in communication on security aspects was crucial for a successful adoption of Webex at our client. Especially participating in security and management meetings helped us to better understand our clients high risk concerns. After a thorough evaluation we established four different target groups for our client’s staff. Alongside a strong focus on software and security trainings, we also emphasized certain gamification aspects and designed special Webex avatars to help the employees easier adopt to Webex.

Results*

Messages shared via Webex saw a significant increase in the growth rate by 95% in the first month

We saw a radical increase of 94% in 1:1 spaces within one month

81% of users saw the importance of Webex for their daily work

92% of users said they know Webex better after the campaign

75% would have recommended Webex to a colleague

The number of Webex meetings increased by 77% in only one month

*All case study results are derived from a user survey and usage statistics, which we consider an integral part of the User Adoption project.
